Who am I and How Can I Help You?

I’m not a therapist. I’m not a lawyer. I’m a divorced mom who has been through it all and emerged from the other side with a dedicated passion to help others pick up the pieces and start again. After my own painful divorce, I struggled for years to rediscover myself, my purpose and my place in the world as a single mom.  The healing process was long and full of emotional ups and downs. I had such a difficult time getting over the end of my marriage and accepting my new life.  There were tearful days when I did not want to get out of bed. Why was I struggling so much? I had an incredible legal team, a great therapist, supportive friends and a loving family.  Yet, I still felt so alone and paralyzed.

Fast forward several years and I stumble upon an ad for a divorce coach.  A divorce coach??  What’s that? I had no idea, so I did some research and immediately knew this was my calling.  A divorce coach was the one missing link in my own divorce. A missing link that could have alleviated much of my despair, stress and confusion as I transitioned from married life to single life.

Imagine going through this process with someone by your side who really gets it? Someone who really understands what you are going through and has been specifically trained and armed with valuable tools to assist you with every aspect of your divorce and recovery.  I am now that someone and I’m committed to helping you survive and thrive through your divorce and beyond.

In addition to my comprehensive training as a CDC Certified Divorce Coach, I have a BA in English, a BS in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from NYU. I enjoyed a successful decade-long career as the editor in chief of a New York City -based parenting publication.  In that role, I gained a wealth of valuable knowledge and insight pertaining to all aspects of parenting and family-related issues.  Furthermore, the skills I acquired in that profession are actually some of the same skills we use in professional coaching.

It’s all about discovering the truth and gaining perspective and heightened awareness by asking the right questions– who, what, where, when, why and how.  Coaching starts by asking ourselves the right questions to discover our own inner truths, needs and desires. Who am I? Who do I want to be? How will I get through this?  Where do I see myself in a year from now? What can I do to regain control of my life? Think about your most pressing questions. Once we have the questions surrounding your divorce, we can work on getting the answers together.  In the process, you will gain clarity, find peace of mind and acquire action steps for achieving the fulfilling life you desire.  Let’s do this!
